ABOUT THE PROGRAM

This program will run from April through to the end of August 2021. Students will learn dances from the Artvin, Elazig & Gaziantep regions.

The program is aimed at all levels and abilities, and the dances taught will vary in intensity.

TACH encourages students to only participate in dances that they feel are comfortable with and to consult their health professional if they have any prior injuries or concerns.

At the end of the program a concert will be arranged for family, friends and community to celebrate the dances learned. Students will be able to perform in multicultural festivals and celebrations as the opportunities arise.

ABOUT OUR TEACHER

Our teacher Our teacher Cahit Yesertener has been performing and leading Folk Dance in Perth since 1997. Among the performances he has prepared students for are the Australia Day performance of 1999 in front of 15,000 spectators in the Perth Entertainment Centre, performances at Turkish Gala Balls, the Araluen Tulip Festival of 2014 which attracted over 40,000 visitors and various other community festivals.

This program is supported by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.
