Turkish Folk Dances to Commence 12th April 2021

TACH is pleased to announce that the "Let's Dance" Folk Dance Classes will begin on the 12th of April and continue every Monday from 6pm to 7.30pm in the Main Hall at the Rivervale Community Centre, 100 Norwood Road, Rivervale. Dancers of all ages, levels and abilities are welcome.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

This program will run from April through to the end of August 2021. Students will learn dances from the Artvin, Elazig & Gazientep regions.


The program is aimed at all levels and abilities, and the dances taught will vary in intensity. TACH encourages students to only participate in dances that they feel are comfortable with and to consult their health professional if they have any prior injuries or concerns.


At the end of the program a concert will be arranged for family, friends and community to celebrate the dances learned. Students will be able to perform in multicultural festivals and celebrations as the opportunities arise.


ABOUT OUR TEACHER


Our teacher Our teacher Cahit Yesertener has been performing and leading Folk Dance in Perth since 1997. Among the performances he has prepared students for are the Australia Day performance of 1999 in front of 15,000 spectators in the Perth Entertainment Centre, performances at Turkish Gala Balls, the Araluen Tulip Festival of 2014 which attracted over 40,000 visitors and various other community festivals.

How much are the classes?


This program which runs from April to August 2021 is free, although a gold coin donation is appreciated.


Do I need to register?


Yes, please register your intent to attend by emailing info@tach.net.au


What shoes do I wear?


Turkish Folk Dance is a very active dance. We recommend wearing sports shoes or other shoes you are comfortable jumping in.


Are the classes family-friendly?


Our classes are aimed at all ages. Family are welcome to attend as spectators, as our venue has a large capacity. Please note young children need t


o be supervised by yourself or another adult.
